Sebastiano Floris obtained his high school diploma in Switzerland and a law degree from the University of Cagliari.
After a period of legal training in Milan, he began his professional activity in Bern in 1980 as a legal consultant, founding the first legal consultancy firm in Switzerland specialising in Italian law.
Following the confidence placed in him by the Embassy of Italy in Switzerland, from 1991 to 2004 he operated under a specific agreement providing extrajudicial legal assistance to the Embassy itself and to the related consular network. This mandate came to an end due to increasing professional commitments in the fields of corporate and real estate law.
The firm subsequently adopted the legal form of a joint-stock company under the name FLD SA.
A member of several boards of directors, he maintains professional relationships with entrepreneurs in Switzerland and Italy, assisting them in both jurisdictions with company formation, tax matters and investments, contractual matters, and the resolution of contractual disputes.
Together with Dr. Francesco Anchini, notary and former representative of the Italian National Arbitration Commission, he drafted the new Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration Chamber of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Zurich (CCIS) and Miami (Florida), as well as those of the CAIE (Centre for Italian Arbitration Abroad), which were subsequently adopted by Assocamerestero at the Pescara Convention in 2005.
